Vintage FMby mcmurmaComment: the almost ghostly hand is a nice touch for this shot. the shadows on the right are a little distracting, but overall a good idea for this challenge and b&w works well. -- gr8photos (6) |

old hotel roomby shutterflyComment: with the teddy and the books, this looks more like an old bedroom than hotel room to me. i would've liked to have the bedspread straightened and the bright lightspot from the window draws my attention (maybe take photo at different time of day if poss?), but the overall composition is good. -- gr8photos (5) |

Dinky Carsby JeanComment: dinky cars are a great idea and they do look truly old. a couple of comments. about your implementation: since you lined up your cars, you need to level your photo (rotate it clock-wise) so the 'horizon' is straight. i would also consider cropping off the edges of the outer cars to give the impression that you have more cars in the line up. last but not least, i've been told that there are mirrors that don't give you this double-reflection (i submitted a shot using a mirror at one point) but haven't checked that out. that may be a hard item to get hold off but would be nice. or is this a table top? -- gr8photos (4) |

I'm Rusted & Weathered barely holding togetherby TracyComment: hm. yours is one of those long descriptive titles. not sure i'm a big fan of those. anyway. the truck is quite a find for this challenge, good catch. i'm wondering whther you could've made it a little more interesting by zooming in on part of the truck, like just the cabin. this way, with the road and the poles and that, it has that 'snapshot' kind of look, sorry. b&w works well here. -- gr8photos (5) |

RusticMeby focusComment: hehehe, funny idea! i wonder if you deliberately chose the yellowish light, IMHO it doesn't really add to the shot. also seems slightly soft, running it through unsharpen mask once helps. -- gr8photos (4) |

ancient fossilby magnetic9999Comment: cool idea, but i think you have to work a little more with your lighting. the top is too dark and overall, there's too much contrast (light vs dark) in my opinion. i bet the gold doesn't help though, tough to photograph. -- gr8photos (4) |

My Friendsby daysezComment: i love the idea for this challenge. you photo is nice, but lacks 'umph' in my opinion. i just tried to do some postprocessing (all i did was autolevels). that increased the contrast, and made your photo much more interesting to me. it also highlighted those shadows which are nice on the white background. let me know if you'd like me to send you a copy of what i did. -- gr8photos (5) |

78 rpmby floydComment: very nice! i like the composition (although i would've considered cropping the label both at the bottom and the left) and the lighting on the vynyl showing of the grooves. nicely done. -- gr8photos (9) |

A Crystalline Wonderlandby dequinixComment: i have a confession to make. i'm lost here. it's someting blue, and i'm suspecting (based on your title) it's got something to do with crystals. abstract is all well and good, and i don't have to know what i'm looking at to appreciate the texture, but IMHO, there's too little in this shot to hold my interest, no focal point. sorry. -- gr8photos (3) |

Hay! what are you doing in that field?by rjhawkinComment: hehehe, funny title. nice placement of the bail of hay in the shot. just a couple of things in the background that i would've tried to control (if possible): the powerlines (that's what i think it is) coming at the right side out of the hay and also poking out at the top. and the bits of tree in the upper right corner. -- gr8photos (5) |
