maybe some more water ... the ground looks pretty dry. funny idea. the sign looks a little overexposed. composition is fine. -- gr8photos (5)

didn't the original description ask for a yellow pen? j/k. this is a great idea, and it's been very well executed. you easily made it into my top 5 this week. -- gr8photos (10)

this is a beautifully composed shot, even though i would like the white to be just a little whiter, but that's just my personal opinion. having said that. this is a pen. an ink pen. not a pencil. at least not in my book. so, even though i like the photo itself, i am going to rate you low for not meeting the challenge. sorry. -- gr8photos (2)

totally cool idea and implementation. the color of the mannequin against the plain white, the position (sitting position, as well as position in the photo) is perfect. so is the drawing. no complaints other than a little nitpick about the dark corners. buth they are just that ... little nitpicks. my top 5 this week. -- gr8photos (10)

ok, i've read the discussions in the forums, i understand there's a 'pencil' in this shot, but IMHO, this does not meet the intent of the challenge (which was to include a writing implement kind of pencil), so i will be voting you low, sorry. as for the photo, the sign looks a little overexposed, and i'm not sure i like the cropping, but then, i haven't taken a photo of a horse's pencil as the main subject, so what do i know. -- gr8photos (2)

nice bold colors. the writing looks like it really is from gumb... so, you met the challenge, the shot is technically ok, but i just don't find it very exciting. sorry. -- gr8photos (5)

b&w works well here, so does DOF, but i am totally missing what the thing on the right is and how it fits into the photo. a piece of clothing? sorry, must be having one of my blond days. -- gr8photos (4)

interesting combination to throw in the pink marbled pen with the standard yellow ones and that the pink matches the flowers. the photo seems cropped a little too tightly at the top, i constantly try and scroll to see more. the flame is a little hot, but that's hard to control. -- gr8photos (4)

ok, i have to admit, i had to smile when i first looked at this. the idea is great, however, the implementation doesn't totally overwhelm me. i think the blanket o nthe left adds a little too much confusion by being in layers, the colors are quite muted (which may be what you were going for, i just personally would've liked a little more color). i think overall, if you had it, a doll's bed would've really done the trick here. -- gr8photos (3)

your cat has quite some teeth. i like that you have some interaction going on between the cat and the pencil, the placement of the writing pad in the corner is also a nice touch. the ears of your cat melt into the background a little too much, and i see the wooden floor peeking through on the left. i think i would have preferred to see all wood, but then, i really like wooden floors. -- gr8phtoos (4)
