challenge met. i hope people look at your photo long enough to understand it, it took me a second. i really like the idea, i almost submitted something similar to the "something new" challenge. the difficult thing to control is that the flower in the background is so bold and dominant in its color that it overpowers the remains of the flower in the foreground (or is it a bud?) it also draws the eye to the out of focus part of the photo. anyway, love the colors, i would probably have zoomed out just a tad so you didn't clip the edges of the blooming flower. because it's so little that's chopped off it looks accidental rather than on purpose. :)

challenge met. what a wonderful simplistic idea. i did have to look twice to see the sheet of paper though, and i think that's partially due to the fact that your photo is very low contrast. you may have just tried to avoid harsh shadows, but i personally feel that more contrast is needed anyway. one way i have found of doing that is to put my camera on a tripod on a relative long exposure and pointing a strong light source at the object and then holding a white bedsheet inbetween the lightsource and your photo object. other than that, the curve in the paper is very nice and your origami is, too, i like it.

challenge met. very innovative!! i'm trying to figure out how you did this, whether you took one photo and printed it and put it next to the next setup or what your method of separating the light between the two halves was. i like that your shot is somewhat symmetrical but not just identical. The matchbox makes me believe you are german speaking ... i'm wondering whether you are elgomin. in any case, who ever you are ... i have nothing to add that i would've done differently. this is definitely one of my favorite entries this week :)

challenge met. nice even lighting and not too many highlights. interesting composition with the can against the glass. the glass and its contents are very dark, and not that visible in front of the also very dark background. the crushed can is really the only ting that jumps out at the viewer. did you consider cropping the left? it doesn't add to the photo for me and might improve your composition (IMHO) of removing the glass from the center of the pix.

challenge met. a very pleasing composition, i can almost smell the fresh coffee beans. i like the even lighting, the lack of strong shadows and the white background. centering works well this time, and the black frame does, too, although a really dark brown could've been nice there, too. good entry! :)

challenge met. very nicely done. i like the composition and the one-sided light works well here. so does the negative space around you and the skull, both seem to be floating. b&w is perfect choice and the frame is great, too. no suggestions for change from me, great shot :)

LOL, funny snapshot. to be honest, in my interpretation of the challenge (which is obviously different from yours), it doesn't fulfil the challenge. there's only the inbetween state, not the before and after (or even after and before). funny capture though. :)

what a totally beautiful photo. i love the shades of blue in the reflection, the tracks through it and the curve of the beach through your photo. you could even turn this into more of an abstract by cropping out the top altogether. what i don't quite get (probably me being dense) is how this represents before and after, sorry. lastly, i like the white frame around the shot, but am not a particular fan of the drop shadow you used.

challenge met. great idea! i like the positioning of the ring on the coals a lot, it really integrates the two parts. your frame is unusual but works well. i would potentially consider cropping the picture on the right. there really isn't anything there that enhances the picture, and it would move the diamond out of the middle into more of an off-center composition. still, good shot :)

challenge met. what a wonderful idea! and the execution is good, too. for a change, glare on the skin adds something to the photo :) i like how you have added some of the other "ingredients" to the right, they really complete the picture. the only nitpick i have with it is that the thing on top overlays the dark reflection of the hair in the mirror and is a bit distracting. but that's only nitpicky. the ponds over the mirror works well. :)
