pollen......by undieyatchComment: Original idea ... the busy background makes it hard to focus on the subject though. |

A Drifting Restby JPRComment: Hey that's nice! The ONLY thing that might have helped is if both kayakers had their paddles down. The one on the left could be drifting in that pose, but could be paddling too, and that probably hurt with cranky people looking for a reason to knock off a point or two.
I like the lighting/coloring and soft look you gave it as well. |

Great shot though. |
Exactly what I thought as I scrolled down! Maybe it's a typo for 1/2000?
Super clarity and fortuitous "pose!" |

From this distance the bridge looks a lot like the bridge over the Columbia at Astoria, Oregon. |

Cynthia and Roseby GeneralEComment: Thanks, I'll pass along the compliments to my brother. I don't even know what kind of camera he used for this -- it was in the pre-digital days.
BTW, Cynthia's our (second?) cousin. |

Taking a Breakby Ten13Comment: Originally posted by Ten13: Well, this was my first entry in a contest. I'm glad it did relatively well... |
Top 20? Relatively well, I guess! Congratulations ... although I personally gave you a good score, I saw so much ranting about what was/wasn't a "sport" I thought pocket billiards would miss the cut .... |

Greenbriarby pitsamanComment: I've been trying to practice capturing all the detail in the puffy parts of the clouds like you did here. Good job making the boat pop out of the background even though you were pretty far away. |
