New pool cue? I am pretty conflicted for this shot. I like seeing the upper end of the cue, not certain if I like or don't like the off in the distance part, let's call that photog's choice. Probably should suggest you re-look at the signature for both cropping and lighting. The hint of green in the middle quietly suggests pool table (nice touch), but might be better were it to appear on both sides. 7 Swash

I like the emotional hesitation this shot portrays. The clarity is very nice, but some parts seem dark to me, like the boy's arm and the entryway. I like the entryway being dark, implies a foreboding, but not the arm. 7 Swash

I like the sun flares on the bails, but not the overall darkness of the shot. Even with the flares, I think there needs to be more light contrasting color for this to work in black and white. Could you have arranged the bails into some sort of interesting pattern, spelling out new, or dpchallenge, or something like that! (just kidding!) 7 Swash

This is a very nice photo of a very tender moment. I think you might have turned up the color saturation, but if so, you have did it well. I'm not fond of baby shots, but even so, I am raising your score from a 7 to an 8. Nice job! Swash

Nice wish list. I know this is at night, but it's still a dark shot. 7 Swash

Nice setup. The corn on the left is a tad dark, but still a nice presentation. I esp. like the sun on the window, at first I thought it was early morning fog, but it still looks good to me. 9 Swash

Very cool arrangement. The background blowout seems like a good idea, but it did hurt one pencil (one of the cropped pencils in cropped at the bottom seems blurred, I think due to the blowout thing). Speaking of cropping, this would have been a good subject for a square frame instead of rectangle. One side in four shows all of the pencils to the tips, three others do not, to me, this is less than fully eye pleasing. Even so, this idea was very clever and well presented, so I am still going to award you an 8. (don't you wish you'd have held this shot for next week?) Swash

This is a beautiful shot. It's hard to demonstrate the youth or lack there of in a butterfly, but I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt here. You did track this down right after it escaped from it's coccoon, right? The swallowtail is nearly breathtaking. The surrounding flowers are nice. 9 Swash

Suggestion: make the title possesive as in my newest dragon. I like the shadow play on the dragon itself, but the details seem slightly blurred, esp. the feet. The chain also seems to have a lack of definition, as well. I want to comment/suggest something about the lighting, but I don't know enough to be intelligent, so I will just suggest, try different lighting for this piece (maybe two lights, straight on each side?) 7 Swash

I like the eye and scissors, but that's about it. The face seems very red and the hair blends into the background too much. You also have a few jaggies along the upper arm of the scissors. 6 Swash
