Down On The Farmby GekkerComment: There's quite a bit about this I like and a little that I don't. The feathery clouds and sky, very nice. I like the tree that seems to be the centerpiece of this shot, but the lower parts are a bit lost in it's background. The cows in the corner, very cool, which makes the red bard connected into this, so it gets a cool too. The telephone pole, well, they're everywhere, what can you do. Finally the ground, the far snow is really neat, too bad the sun had melted the area in the foreground making it look mottled, but I'm not asking you to take a snow blower to the scene, that's silly. It's just the best I could do to descibe why I am as wishy washy about this shot as I am. I like it and I don't.....If you would have gone closer to the tree for a nice tree branches shot, it wouldn't be as much of a landscape. I really do like the cows in the corner. Color seems really nice, lighting...well that goes partly back to the trees in the background. 7 Swash
??? Confused ???? Please send me a note, we can "talk". |

Golden Gateby GeneralEComment: Bizarre coloration, but cool! The clouds came out a little grainy and the tree in the foreground looks to be over sharpened, but the overall effect is just a little too cool to berate it too much. (Special filter?) Very, very cool! 9 Swash (I just had to take away a point for the above issues, sorry) |

Olympic Peninsulaby jimmythefishComment: Gorgeous picture! (Personal note: this is the second great Washington shot with NO clouds! You're attracting people!! Remember, it rains here EVERY day!!!) I got nothing bad to say about this, just great shot. 9 Swash
oh yes, I really like how the sun rays came out in this one, very nice touch! |

Crossing by timj351Comment: Very nice picture, nasty clear cut in the background. Was there a possibility to take this from the other side of the tracks? W/O the clear cut, this is really nice, with it, a couple notches less..... 7 Swash |

Psychedelic Valleyby av8orboyComment: Very bizarre fungus! Neat macro, it does simulate a landscape, but the wall/window in the background with the water droplets gives it away. Very brave to submit for this challenge, I'm glad you did, but don't let a low score get you too down. I'm going with 7 as a good simulated landscape. O.K? Swash |

Viewpointby moondoggieComment: Very nice! Reminds me of the Columbia River Gorge area. The building on top of the near outcropping looks very cool. Did you use a haze filter? If not, it might have helped, but I haven't had great luck in that area. Easy 9! Swash |

Evening Tideby a1leyez0nm3Comment: Glorious shot, nice inclusion of the ferry! Is this near Magnolia? I just can't quite place it. Damn nice, don't tell anyone this was in Washington! Remember, it rains here EVERY day! (Don't change our story!) 10 Swash |

Prominent Thornsby smellyfish1002Comment: O.K. I love foreground stuff and these prickly guys are wonderful, but by focussing on them, IMO you make this a picture of them, with the background being just that. (takes away from the landscape idea a bit) I love this shot, so I'm going to "ding" you two points, that's all. 8 Swash |

"Manned Scape"by KickDrum5150Comment: It's a lovely city-scape shot, very well executed. I won't take away points for this not being a mountainous yada yada yada, but others might....The flag in the upper right corner is a nice touch. 7 Swash |

Koolau Mistby CubComment: I like the grass in the foreground, nice touch. The roof top takes a tiny bit of the wilderness feel away, but on the unavoidable side. Was a wider view possible? (just an idea) 7 Swash (I should joke with you about using a haze filter to remove the haze..... I hope you know I am joking!) |
