| 11/01/2008 08:34:43 PM | The Happy Tortoiseby LydiaComment: Scutter wanted to join the Tortoise Club so bad, that he resorted to taking Turtle Steroids. However, after buying a black-market bottle of what he thought was muscle growth hormone, he was horrified to find out that it was actually just a home-brewed mixture called "Mama Tortoise's Happy Time Tonic and Hair Shampoo", and that it wasn't the muscles that he had grown. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 08:26:09 PM | Bloody ilitratesby drabhiComment: Defying laws, laughing in the face of authority, causing mayhem everywhere they went. This was their duty. This was their mandate.
This was the Goose Squad. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 08:20:41 PM | slipsliding awayby cutoutComment: When William finally decided that his masterpiece was going all wrong, he would have been horrified to know what devastation his furious erasing would cause the world that he had created.
The screams and deaths were only the beginning. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 08:09:36 PM | Window Drawingby timfythetooComment: She stood there, proudly displaying her dexterity, her tiny feet perched precariously on the ledge, her hands gripping her lifeline. Sure, to someone bigger, the drop was insignificant. Sure, to someone with more experience in life, the achievement wouldn't be worth noting.
To her, however, shining in the light of the morning, facing the shadows of the uncertainty of the future, it was a monumental moment. Climbing to that small but significant perch, showing off her growing abilities.
She stood there, proudly, and so she should. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 07:32:55 PM | The Sopranosby hihosilverComment: The concert seemed to be dying a slow and painful death, and when Philbert grabbed Norman, Norman's squawk nearly destroyed the performance for good. However, within moments, Philbert began to play Norman, like he was a cello. The sweet, sweet music that resulted awed everyone, and Philbert's quick thinking was hailed as legendary. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 07:28:52 PM | The Universe in a Classroomby strangeghostComment: They settled into their seats, and whispers of awe and excitement drifted through the crowd in hushed waves. They'd waited weeks for this moment, this escape from the dullness of the usual classroom day. Parents and students alike gasped as the lights went off, and the machine projected its display on the ceiling.
"My God, it's full of stars!" was heard from some joker, and nervous laughter was heard.
It wasn't long, however, before the laughter and the whispers and the exclamations began to stop. It wasn't long before the joking reference to an old film was suddenly not so much of a joke after all.
It wasn't long before everyone in the room was lost forever. It was, indeed, full of stars. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 01:28:59 AM | Dead Woodby dippydazComment: He reached to the heavens. For years he'd worked to this moment. A spell here, an incantation there. Now, he was ready to defy the gods. He was ready to take his place in the universe. No, no longer would he have to answer to the whims of deities he cared not for. No longer would he succumb to the will of the ancients.
He reached to the heavens. His voice took on a power of its own as he chanted his final enchantment, as he screamed to the skies for the gifts that he felt he righteously deserved.
He reached to the heavens, and lightning and hell rained down, and he was transformed, but it was not the transformation he was expecting.
Centuries later, the result of defying the gods sits in an empty field, arms raised helplessly in an endless torment, a reminder to those who remain of what happens to those that would crave too much. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Horse 2: "How many times do I have to tell you, stop calling me that."
Horse 1: "Sorry, but I am talking, it's funny. Like that TV Show."
Horse 2: "Oh for... this isn't a TV show, your name isn't Ed, I'm not Wilbur, and this isn't the 50s!"
Horse 1: "Fine, but I'm still a horse of course, of course..."
Horse 2: "AARRRGHH!!" | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 12:51:21 AM | Perspectiveby Rob OComment: It had been a struggle.
For days he had trudged and traversed this desolate landscape. For days he had fought hunger and thirst as the savage sun beat down upon his cracked and blistered skin, as the air that was like a blast furnace dried out his throat and seared his lungs. For days he had crawled up the side of what he always feverishly dreamed was the final dune, the final ascent that his dreams and the beating heat of the sun always turned into the sight of a giant, sparkling lake. The end of his misery and torture.
As he approached the crest of this dune, his hopes crested as well, and were quickly destroyed once again. There was no lake. There was no end. There was no hope. His throat parched beyond recovery, his eyes too dry for tears, he let loose a soundless scream and collapsed to his knees in the sand.
The desert would consume one more. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
