Compact Disc Digital Audioby SharQComment: The inner edge aside, the subject isn't immediate obvious. It's sort of pretty, in an abstract fashion, but I'm not a big fan of abstract. Since I had to stop and think, even for a few seconds, what this was, it lessened the topical impact for me. |

Please Stand Byby eloiseComment: whissssSSSSSSsssssSSSSSSSssssssSSSSS
Okay! Yes, this definitely meets the challenge. The clutter on the left is a little distracting, as is the doorway. The TV actually having a visible antenna is good emphasis the subject, although, heh, you may not have had a choice there (I used to think I was the last person in the wired world without cable, but maybe I was mistaken). (Also, I have it now.) (Well, directTV, and it's not like you care about this at all, but I got 2 hours of sleep, which tends to make for the occasional bizarre comments.)
Anyhow. Cropped to get rid of the left clutter would lose you part of the antenna, so I suppose I'd recommend a slightly different angle for a bit more impact, but overall I like the idea. |

In a previous existenceby e301Comment: Wow, I thought I was the only person left in the world with an actual record player (and vinyl). It works for me as a subject. Interesting lighting; good closeup shot. |

Guitarby EJComment: A guitar by itself with no one playing it does little to evoke sound for me, I'm afraid. Concentrating on the opening and its circles is an interesting idea, though. |

Murder By Dartby wayne9232Comment: Better, of course, would have been the balloon actually popping, as difficult as that might be to capture. This actually more looks like something balanced on a dart and turned sideways than something about to pop. I do like the highlight -- window or whatever -- on the balloon, it gives it an interesting drawn look
Because there's no sense of motion and the balloon is still intact, it didn't strongly resonate (no pun intended) with the topic for me. |

Noisy, Hungry Sea Lionby StevePaxComment: Title aside, this doesn't really scream 'sound' to me, although I can sort of see it as on topic. This looks very strange, overly blue -- is it tinted? Also the framing seems off -- either too much negative space or possibly not enough. |

Resonanceby rcrawfordComment: I assume either running your finger along the glass or tapping it because of the title, but without the title I would never have tied this to the topic. The finger may be required to establish the topic (however loosely) but it looks very out of place as is. |

Gentle Tonesby dsidwellComment: Windchime, very evocative. Nicely framed against the branches, good DOF. Too bad it's not a prettier windchime, although the weathered look is fine. |

Hey! Don't step into the water.by kenboComment: Heh, I almost went out to take a photo of a fountain, so I definitely agree falling water is evocative of sound. Something about the photo looks odd -- I suspect in part the lack of colour. Inasmuch as seeing the foam swirl is nice, the clear falling water seems blurry, which is probably related. |

Screamby arnitComment: Good angle! She looks amused -- I would have guessed laughing or playful yelling if not for the title, although I suppose one can have a playful scream -- but that's fine, it still evokes the concept of sound. |
