Nice use of the Primary colors!
I do wish the dart weren't cut off, but this is probably because something had to be holding the dart in place, and you had to crop it out, so I understand. I wonder though, if you coud have somehow put something holding the dart on the other SIDE of the dart, and then have concealed it that way. Like clipping it to the background somehow by one of the little arms on the fat part of the dart?
Just rambling. Probably not really possible, but something to TRY anyway.
I love the focus and clarity. Really nice detail in the texture of the balloon, and dart.
If I saw this for real, I'd cover my ears predicting the loud noise of the bursting of the balloon, so I think you did this very well.
The reflection on the balloon is the only distraction I find at all. Angle is great.

| yikes! another balloon photo - This one makes me wince at the thought of the impending sound. But where the other one was too late to make me really feel th sound, this one is too early. Again, I know it would be SO hard to catch a balloon popping, but this just makes me want to see it. The color, light and composition and great in this photo! And the frame even adds to the feeling of the coming explosion....It is VERY nice. I really shouldn't complain. 7 |

| Not to be too picky here, but that's a plastic dart. I don't know that this would actually pop the balloon, or just bounce off. That said, it's a good idea - but a metal dart (with scotch tape or liquid skin over the hole) might make the point a bit better. 6-7 if I was voting. |

Better, of course, would have been the balloon actually popping, as difficult as that might be to capture. This actually more looks like something balanced on a dart and turned sideways than something about to pop. I do like the highlight -- window or whatever -- on the balloon, it gives it an interesting drawn look
Because there's no sense of motion and the balloon is still intact, it didn't strongly resonate (no pun intended) with the topic for me. |

| 10 for concept, 8 for execution: 9 overall. :-> A little more drama in the colors/contrast might well have pumped it a bit higher, but still, very good. I hear the photo (which is my major grading criteria for this contest), and it's an appealing image overall. Good stop-motion. The lighting looks *slightly* washed out, to my untutored eye. |

| There's something distracting on the balloon - tape to stop it bursting, maybe? The reflection of light is an odd shape, too. Also, this invokes the expectation of sound to come, not sound happening which I think would meet the challenge better. |
