Growthby h2Comment: Good use of background shadows as an alternative to stark white high key method. Nice light on the leaves. |

branchscape Silhouetteby jagarComment: Nice detail in the branche and the sun rays in the clouds add a good bit of interest. Probably could remove 1/3 to 3/4 of the bottom black area without harm (could make it more panoramic). 7 |

Reflected Branches Framed By Window Branchesby 777STANComment: This interesting set of windows makes a nice set of frames for the branches. Cropping away the twigs at the bottom (hedge?) could make a cleaner image. In retrospect, stepping to the right a pace or two might have allowed elimination of the diagonal roof line (if the other reflections would permit). 7. |

Shadows in the Roadby AmmieComment: To my eye, the vast expanse of blue sky diminishes the road and shadows. Consider a square crop to balance the subjects, perhaps with an adjustment (curves, contrast, levels?) to make the shadows a little stronger. |

dance my branchby cutoutComment: One of the best, extra points for orignality and purity of main subject form. Unfortunately, this goes against the usual DPC grain, but a subculture will enjoy it. I might have cropped the top just enough to minimize the black but retain the irregular artsy feel. Texture is interesting (paper towel?). 9 |

Hinomaruby Yo_SpiffComment: Enjoyable abstract, red:yellow-orange works well, smooth:radial/circular makes interersting contrast. Makes me think of the sun. |

scent of a womanby StagoleeComment: Perhaps not colorful eye candy, but I rate this in the top 10 for subtle textue and shading. |

Untitledby kleskiComment: Beautiful abstract. The narrow curved line sets this above other macro entries. |

New Horizons by salmiakkiComment: This is my favorite of the challenge: simplicity is outstanding, three abstract yet human form figures contribute a story line, red-orange of alone figure works well with cyan of sky, repeating horizontal elements of clouds and horizon elemets contrast with the upright figures, stark white background excellent, but mostly it just has a lot of appeal independent of analysis of elements. |
