Dogwalkerby pitsamanComment: A wonderful concept and great composition. Tones are terrific. You highlighted what nature provided at that moment which is the mark of a great photographer. Cloud detail is nothing less than stunning. The only part that is too for me is the fine detail on the beach is oversharpened, but that might just be me. In that case I would have split the amount of USM applied to the image and used a slightly lower USM amount on the beach itself than to the ocean and clouds above. |

The River Walkwayby sbeaumontComment: Interesting image. I like it a lot. You've created a nice mood with good colors and generally hight technical quality. I suppose you purposely generated the smoothed areas using your noise reduction software (NeatImage?). This borders on digital art, which is not a bad thing in my opinion but may be with other voters. As a photoartist taking full control of the image like you have done in this case, you must strive to make it perfect in every way. The only place I'd recommend changes would be in the reflections of trees with fine detail in the water. The "lower" parts of the reflected trees in left center are a little too "fuzzy". It would be hard to correct, but worth the effort. But mostly the brighter detail on the rightmost part of the detail refelected in the lake needs to be "sharper" and better show the detail above. |

Farewellby LevTComment: Beautifully composed image captured at the perfect moment. Technical quality is top notch. I envy this capture and your ability to frame it just right. You have done this so much better than I did when I tried to capture something similar:

Remembranceby TruegshtComment: Obvious that most of the color is photographer generated, but it is a good effect and a nice image. You've done a good job. Because you have made the background so interesting through the use of color, I'd recommend moving the cross left to the 1st rule of thirds horizontal line for more dramatic photographic effect. The cross leaning inwards toward a bright center would have metaphoric significance as well. |

The Dawn of Justiceby BudComment: This is a beautiful and moody image. Interesting color and use of noise reduction (NeatImage?) software. The clarity and framing with the trees is very well done.
This would take some effort but you could make this a perfect shot by cleaning up the haloing around the silhouette of the building and trees. That task can be made very easy by first selecting black to include trees and building, reversing the selection and using the clone tool to remove the bright halo within the selection. Nothing will bleed over into the sihouette itself. You will not have to be as careful as you otherwise would have to be. Congrats on a great capture. |

Homesteadby -crtComment: Well composed and the blues in mountains and clouds is outstanding. You will improve this image dramatically by cloning out the bright diagona streak across the sky. Done't forget the part in the upper left corner. |

Naufragioby ZoomdakComment: Ahhhhhhh... the Peter Iredale. Nice to see people out and about taking pictures of Oregonian historic interest. Decent DOF for the lighting conditions. Overall a very good image. I'd recommend darkening black some to remove a slight hue in the black resulting from slight color overprocessing. |

Deja Vu du Lysby charliebakerComment: Congrats on the 5th place finish. You keep inching upward close to the ribbons. Hang around that area long enough and one is sure to come your way. |
