The branch is lost in the leaves. The uniformity of their pattern is dominating the shot and isn't broken up enough.

A tight crop on either side would remove the distraction of the brightly lit trunk, and some of the distraction in the background. Nice texture and detail.

The reflections are clear enough with the still water and well enough lit to be strong on their own. Cropping a lot of the top would have benn more powerful.

View through Branches

Had you picked some of the leaves off and left some in such a way as to mirror the well caught pattern created by the boats this would have been more effective. The focus on the boats also makes the branch seem like a mistake and it got in the way. They would still have been obvious as boats with their shape if you focused on the leaves and not them.

Thirsty Branches

Very witty, I like it. The composition would have been better balanced into thirds by cropping about 1/2 the cloud from the top. It's taking too much attention from the braches imo.

Nice textures, and good contrasts and focus, good DOF to soften the impact of the strong star shape and draw the eye forward to one of the branches. A novel and well executed approach to the challenge. 10

Northern Branch of the L & N Railroad

Without the title there's no indication that this is a branch of the railline. A junction would have made this reference clear for the viewer. A different approach but could have been more clear.

Very well caught, nicely composed, balancing the delicacy of the bird with an equally delicate line of the branch. I do worry that the bird has stolen the limelight here though.

The conmposition is poor since you're not sure what you want us to focus on here since everything is blurred, and the background is in the way since it wasn't misty enough.
