Your photo from first glance is very appealing, I do believe it is a very well earned 7th place. I think the first things that draws attention is the glow from the "branches". I am very glad to see an out of the box idea place so well.

The photo itself is very well taken. The lightning is great and highlight the end of end branch in a unique way. The clarity of the overall image is wonderful. I know there have been some comments on the composition but I do very much like the way you took this. The only thing I can really see that could have been done differently would be the "dust" or "scratches" that appear on the surface. I think it was an amazing photo to take and the minor imperfections are just that minor; they barely take away from the photo. I also find the blue to be a very pleasing and appropriate color for the image. Once again congratulations on your finish, especially among a contest with so many entries.

A most fascinating image with slick contour lines. The glitter invites the eyes at once. Congratulations on your top 10 finish.

Very interesting perspective. I really liked this photograph, the colors, lighting, and focus are good too. How'd you do that? It's a really fantastic photo.

Very cool! I like everything about it, lighting, composition... The DOF could maybe be a little deeper (might just be my monitor though)

This almost looks like a palm tree. With that being said, I will have to say you have a rather intresting shot here. Not sure if I like this particular subject matter, but interpretation is 9/10ths the law. I understand how hard this must have been to try to control the dust on this peice of Mirror or what ever you used.
I think the persective is good here but I think the composition lacks and when I say that the Joining should be the true focal point. I would want to see just a tad bit more then what you show on the top "branches" Of course I was not there. I do not know what is right outside the frame of view. I think this is an intresting shot. Did you try car wax or Rain X. I believe that water would have beaded better. Plus wax would help with dust removal. Intresting lighting from rear/above. Well time to go.
Have fun.

Nice textures, and good contrasts and focus, good DOF to soften the impact of the strong star shape and draw the eye forward to one of the branches. A novel and well executed approach to the challenge. 10
