Routine Precisionby tyt2000Comment: A play within a play; a photo within a photo. I suppose this is sometimes what dreams are made of. It's a striking photo. I like the execution of the idea; but it feels a little disconnected to the subconscious. |

My Little Angelby bruskiComment: I happen to really dislike those little ceramic (or is it plastic?) figurines. Their low production values cheapen everything within about 100 yards. But here, that seems to be the point of the photo; and I like it. In terms of clearing the 'surrealistic' hurdle, I think it does, just. And I like the texture of the fence and the wood behind it. |

Soft Flowby qmdiComment: Pretty, moody, dreamlike. Yet it doesn't quite manage to pose the stark contradictions or reality-bending imagery of surrealistic painting. |

Then bring friends around it. by jjbeguinComment: "Who can hope to unite a people who champion 275 different kinds of cheese?" One might start, I imagine, by serving up this photo; for it represents several of the unique and simple pleasures that are unique to France. It is an extraordinary photo.
I am constantly amazed at how you cast a loving eye on things mere mortals see as mundane and ordinary and then photographically transform them into things almost other-worldly. Is this a thing that can be learned? Does one have to be French to learn it? Or does one just smile, and say 'cheese?' |

Looking thruby NunoComment: This is a competently exposed photo, and the lighting is good. The apparatus held by the subject clutters and confuses. And if this were not the case, it would still have no discernable link to the challenge. |

Let me See!by melkingComment: Strong, directional light, texture in skin, simple and uncluttered image. These match what little I know of Ansel Adam's portrait work. It's a beautiful shot. Thanks for going out on a limb. |

Mendocino Coastby bryanbrazilComment: Good location and nice strong contrast. The blacks seem just a little too big and blotchy to me. |

Adamisedby Mr TeeComment: It's quite gorgeous, but that gaussian blur seems a little out of place. |
