This is a redoing of an image I did in school. I remembered the instructor going on and on about how surreal it was. So I thought hey, I should give it a shot in the challenge.

This is in a kind of freaky place. The owners call it the enchanted forest. There is all kinds of toys lying around on the ground and tied up in trees, some on fence posts. It does have an weird feel to it. But it makes for great juxtapositions.

There is not really anything intersting in this photograph. I realize your point is the angel, but there is not enough contrast between the little figurine and the rest of the picture; seems wanting.

The background, though out of focus is very pretty. The fence is not. The angel is in between. A 5.

Not sure i understand what is surreal about this. I like the DOF, but find the colours weak. A better lighting and some saturtion on the colours would've helped greatly. Keep at it! 5

I happen to really dislike those little ceramic (or is it plastic?) figurines. Their low production values cheapen everything within about 100 yards. But here, that seems to be the point of the photo; and I like it. In terms of clearing the 'surrealistic' hurdle, I think it does, just. And I like the texture of the fence and the wood behind it.
