The Night Crawlerby SteveJComment: I love red for this; red is the natural colour of darkness, the one colour that doesn't kill your night vision. 7 |

Streetwise Showdown by CutterComment: Nice picture; great facial expression vis-a-vis the challenge. Hard to believe it as a serious game of chess, though ... the black king is in a preposterously advanced position for a game with so many pieces still in play. Maybe he plays like Elway did? |

Within the shadeby ergoComment: A deceptively casual image. Yet a moment's study reveals that it's actually an elegant and harmonious composition that succeeds on more than one level; as an interesting & intriguing photograph of its subject; as a pleasing graphic image; and as a very good entry in this challenge. My only 10. |

hide and go peekby mandyturnerComment: Terrific framing of this subject, especially with the loose lock of hair echoing the "behind bars" theme established by the frame. |

asphalt dreamsby pcodyComment: A very good idea executed with skill and restraint. The frame and the subject are a harmonious pair, and just enough of each is used to achieve maximum effect. |

City Twilightby BlinksComment: Striking composition. The looming canyon of the framing buildings creates an original & effective point of view of the subject. The fact that it is one of my favourite buildings makes me like it even more. |

The Doorwayby ColeyComment: An interesting, thought-provoking photograph. The frame helps to suggest possible stories about the subject ... Is she waiting for someone? Her place or theirs? Or has she lost her key? Who knows? But it IS interesting, and a pleasing, offhand composition. |
