Man on Galle Face Walk, facing the ocean and shading himself with the multi-colored umbrella. Somehow, there's something comical about the situation for me. Without the umbrella, he'd be like every other of the hundreds of people that visit the walk daily. But he wasn't looking at the sea...

Cropped, curved, contrast, spot edit on gravel to remove white spots, desaturated (95 per cent opacity, resized, saved for web.

This looks very much like a 'Chez' production. Very slick work on the processing. Great.

A deceptively casual image. Yet a moment's study reveals that it's actually an elegant and harmonious composition that succeeds on more than one level; as an interesting & intriguing photograph of its subject; as a pleasing graphic image; and as a very good entry in this challenge. My only 10.

Nicely manipulated. I like the color only being in the umbrella. Really well done.

different pov would have helped this shot. at first i thought the stone was a suitcase and the man was sitting somewhere in the city. the face looks too dark for the rest of his body, as there is details on his arms and legs, but not face. like the saturation though. contrast is good also

just the hint of color, blur of the water adds an interesting background. like that the subject's face is hidden - make this universally appealing. one of my favorites this challenge

I've been looking at this photot then left then came back and yet I still don't see a frame. Overall I think the photo is a nice photo and a very pleasing one to look at but I don't see the connection to this challenge. Good luck. <4>

Beautiful contrast! Is there still a wee bit of colour in it? If there would have been a little more space between the umbrella end the right edge of the picture it would be just perfect!! At least in my opinion ;)
