The harsh shadow under the thread is not good. You forgot the needle. Having the thread through the needle would have helped this.

Good clarity, nice idea. The angle though is wrong. If this in fact were a rat (mouse) looking at it, he would have a real sore head by now because he is much taller than the hole. Not being a rat, maybe this doesn't actually make sense but a little lower angle might have been more realistic?

The background is way too distracting. It melds right in with the apples. I'd like the subject to be dominant, i.e., much brighter. Shooting a little more top down might have helped.
