 shot with a 100w tungsten lamp directly on top of it. Editing: color dodge on the background, my special technique for the color on the subject. High pass sharpen.

I like the idea, but I think it would be more effective with a needle as well.

Where's the "machine" ? ;-) Shadow is a little harsh on the spool.

Well, it still lacks a needle or you must have some magic trick to attatch those buttons to a fabric with that wire. :)

Overall great lighting but the shadow is a bit dark. A reflector opposite the light source may help to fill and soften it a bit. I've used whire cardboard, A4 white printing paper, wrinkled alu foil myself. Composition is good, but might look stronger in a 3:2 ratio. I say that because the left and right side are so close to the subjects that you'd expect a bit less space on top and at the bottom. 7

The harsh shadow under the thread is not good. You forgot the needle. Having the thread through the needle would have helped this.

Nice concept but I think it would have had more interest if there had been a needle or two in the shot. Show some sewing devices along with the thread and buttons.

I really think you should have included a needle, as technically that is what would have been used to sew it, but I'll let that go. Great idea, well done.
