Bamboo 1by pjangelComment: Composition, placement, section of the subject chosen, background colors all perfect. The image seems to suffer from camera shake or focus that is off just slightly. With an apt of 16, this first in your series should be as crisp as the shoots themselves. Use of a tripod and timed shutter release combined with an application of USM would put this into the six to eight range. |

Macro-Microby bjoernComment: Micro...phone eh? Got one of these lying around. Should dig it out and try my own hand. Love the DOF choice. My Pref: Should be neat imaged heavily to remove any grain/noise in the shadowed background and then sharpened to a hard pop. (USM and Highpass). Great crop. |

Timeby bjoernComment: Love this image. Caught my eye when looking at your profile. Would love to see a deeper saturation of colors here and a highpass. I think it would have scored much higher and should have even as it is now. |

Day 4: Sunrise over pepper planetby johst582Comment: Excellent detail and focus. Wish this was taking up a much more significant portion of the crop. I think your idea for an artificial sunflare or even stars would be cool! |

Blue Reflector Macro - Day 3by slaaksoComment: Great idea! I toyed with a reflector macro once, but never entered it. Since this is broken and may not have the backing intact, what would a backlit version of this look like? |

Water-Dragonby GregoryBComment: I can't tell if the detail and contrast is so rich that it just blows me away or if the light is just too harsh. He/She? comes off as silvery, but I suspect it is more grey or pearlescent. This is a great close up, perhaps a tad more DOF would leave the eyeball just as sharp as the rest. In this case, I think I would have pushed ISO to 400, closed down the aperture to 8 or so and tried for a bit quicker shutter to get the sharp out of the lens before sharpening in post process.
BTW: The thumbnail is impressive as H377! |

Day 04 - Capby hajekaComment: Fibre detail is great. At this magnification and sharpness, my eyes get a bit confused, fighting to stay on the kanga, but being pulled over to the highlights in the wool/fleece? How could this be processed to keep the detail, but also leave my eyes on the embroidery? |

Day 4 - DECUS ET TUTAMENby taljComment: Beautiful! DOF is perfect. I have not one complaint about the images. The border however is a bit thick for my tastes (spelled being anal). Left side box is slightly larger than the others causing a bit of an uneven weight in the triptych and the background in that cell is slightly lighter as well. |

Escher Columnby JMartComment: Absolutely phenomenal! I was planning to spend some time trying this out for the first time and that tutorial has given me a great place to start. This is a ribbon winner! |

Day 2 - Cold Steel Retakeby LonzComment: Phenomenal retake Lonz! Barring the 'typical wear and tear' on this watch, I would swear it was an ad for a new watch. Thanx for taking the time to create a visual Brown vs Blue example for the thread! |
