The only other 10 I give out in this challenge. Love everything except the title wich is "tacky" (pun intended). I especially love the tones in this image and the shadows from the tacks in the air, the shadows really make this image work. Good job!

Hope you don´t get voted down from people that only think of tacks as being those little pointy things but my guess is you aren´t doing to well because of narrow minded people. Anyway, good shot but not exceptional either, needs something to make it go "wow" like a dramatic sunset in the clould or something. It could also use a little bit more contrast/sharpness but I like the composition. Gave it an 6, hope to see you above 60% at least.

Finally! An image that stands out from the rest of the challenge. No offense to anyone really but this challenge IMO has been terrible so far and I don´t think I have ever given out so many scores of 5 or lower. Anyway, love pretty much everything about this shot except that maybe the DOF could have been bigger to include the drops in the backround that fade out but this is just nitpicking. The first 10 I gave this challenge, hope you do well.

I like this image, excellent colours and DOF but for my personal taste it could have had a little bit more contrast and I would have framed it so that the tack was a little bit more up in the left corner as per the rule of thirds but this is just nitpicking. I gave it an 8 and hope you do well.

Good idea but the purple fringing is really killing this image for me personally. If the image quality had been good this would potentially be a 7-8 from me but as it is I really can´t give it more than 5.

Balance

Good idea but for me this gives off more a feeling that they are up in the air rather than standing balanced. This image desperatly needs a shadow that starts from the tip of the lower tack to give off the feeling that the bottom one is standing and the other one balanced up on it, at least IMHO.

Lol! Good idea and funny but the tacks are too small for this to work 100% IMHO. If you would have had this exact image with a couple of more tacks that were closer and therefore bigger it would really have hit the spot for me but I still like this very much, way better than most in the challenge so I gave it an 7, mostly because of your imagination.

Pretty cool idea but the colour seems a bit warm and while I normally love short DOF is way too short for this image to work properly IMHO. At least my eye is drawn towards the front tacks instead of the blue cloud mainly because of the lack of DOF. Anyway, good effort and better than most in the challenge but I can´t rate this more than 6 due to the technical aspects of this photo.

Congratulations on your best result on DPC so far. Could have easily been in the top three but it was a VERY tough competition. Anyway, a great Aurora shot but like you yourself said, needs a better foreground but otherwise flawless.
