Thanks to all those that gave me the good scores and nice comments. I'm happy with my placing, but a little disappointed in the people who obviously marked me down because they didn't understand that there is more then one meaning for "tacks". |

After the meaning of tacks for sailing was brought to my attention I came back to say that I get it now....I've raised my vote for you. |

Beautiful shot! Nice work thinking outside the square. I hope that other people don't mark you down for it because they don't understand it. Good luck. |

I think this photo would look superb if you were to use an impressionist affect to make it look like a painting. I think the background is very inclined to such... |

My initial comment was that I saw no tacks in this image. Since I've lived in the center of a continent all my life, the sailing reference was initially lost on me. Hopefully the voters won't penalized you too much for your alternative interpretation of the topic.
I can't decide whether I like the way this image is cropped . I'm inclined to say that there should be more sky, but the reflection of the mast adds a nice balanced feel to the image. Moving the waterline to the center of the frame would have increased the balance, but that might just add too much negative space. Anyway, thanks for adding variety to the challenge. |

I've been sailing for years and would loved to have taken this angle on the challenge. Kinda out of the box for those who don't sail. I hope you're not getting nailed(pardon the pun) because people expected physical, metal tacks. Nice image (9) |

I like this scene. I can almost smell the fresh sea breeze, hear the peaceful water...
could be a tad sharper on the boat. very nice overall |

Hope you don´t get voted down from people that only think of tacks as being those little pointy things but my guess is you aren´t doing to well because of narrow minded people. Anyway, good shot but not exceptional either, needs something to make it go "wow" like a dramatic sunset in the clould or something. It could also use a little bit more contrast/sharpness but I like the composition. Gave it an 6, hope to see you above 60% at least. |

there are no tacks in this image. ;) Very pretty and serene. Like the wash of all the blue while the boat is sharp. 10 for thinking outside the box and finding this image in less than 24 hours. |

Nice use of the challenge topic, hopefully most people will get it. Too bad about the hazy background, but you can't control the weather. |
