08 - Wispsby ErikVComment: Great job. The focus and lighting give it a very fluid look. |

Down Underby patio127Comment: I agree with sulamk. The underside needs to be better illuminated. It looks like the flash blew out the stalk of the mushroom and the top.
The coloring and texture of the mushroom make it a great subject though. |

03 - Pine Needlesby ErikVComment: It looks like some sort of smoke pod gushing fumes behind it. Very nice. I wonder if it would hold that effect more if it were not on a flat surface, but suspended in mid air for the shot. I think there is a lot of room for some interesting experimentation with this subject. |

YESby pawdrixComment: I love this shot too. Aside from the nit-picky kinda stuff, it is great! |

_DSC0265.jpgby sulamkComment: Wow he looks like a little monster, but he looks quite beautiful as well. I would love to see his face a little better if possible. I'm not sure what the background is or was, but it does a good job of complimenting you subject.
I don't get tired of seeing this subject, so please keep them coming.
Overall, the photo is much better than your first one. Good job.
If you know please, please, please tell me what it is. I'm very curious. Message edited by author 2008-10-09 09:12:16. |

Day 05 - Sweepby shalrathComment: I agree that the broom is soft/out of focus, but I disagree that it is good for the photo. Focus really would be better on the broom and leaf. Looking at the bricks, I think the broom is just out of focus. Too bad.
But candids are usually from a distance and they are shots of opportunity, so we take what we get.
However, the composition (color, border, crop) is FANTASTIC. Good idea. |

Day 08 - V is for...by shalrathComment: Great profile shot. You can see a lot of character in the man. As said before the coloring of the photo looks a bit sepia, which is appropriate.
I lived in Republic of Korea for a year and now I live in Japan. It is amazing how much more active the older community is here in the East than in the West. They are a lot thinner here too.

Commotionby bvyComment: Nicely done. The mother looks like she has a lot in her hands with her baby. But that's OK here in Japan I see mothers texting on the cell phone while riding bikes with kids in a rear seat. I can't make out what is in the mothers left hand. Is it more food?
You're right about the exposure. Technically, there isn't much more I can say about it. It is really nice you were able to get the shot so close, but from what you said, it sounds like they don't recognize personal space too much. It really brings you to the neighborhood. |

Kissesby BarbBComment: Nice shot of the snake. If there was anyway to get more focus on his eyes, the snake would have come more alive. Snake's eyes add so much more to their beauty.
I'm pretty sure by looking at the snakes coloring that the handler isn't in any danger, so there is no suspense for me seeing them so close. So, I think the handler's face is pointless for this shot. If you had more of the handler's face, especially his eyes, he might be more relevant. It just kind of looks like they're about to kiss. (unless that was what you were going for :P )
Hmm... I guess its all about the eyes for me.
