Living with itby UrfaKComment: the eye contact in the girl makes me VERY uncomfortable looking at the shot. a big success for a documentary/journalistic style photograph. similarity between lambs and two guys scrounging in the trash says a lot about their conditions. last bust not the least, those nice cars in the background shows the proof of financially extremely unbalanced society. one of the best shots i have seen in the documentary genre recently.
will look forward to knowing more about this place and how you shot this photograph. thanks in advance. |

Greenhouse Effectby HeiSchComment: nice idea and equally well executed. good to see something "different". i have to admit that i do not like the oddly cropped can. if you just wanted to include the starting point of the spray, diagonal composition could have been better. i mean, the point of origin of the spray in any bottom corner with spray going diagonally up. with pure background like this, rotation wouldn't have been difficult. i like this nonetheless. |

Where Oil Meets Waterby cnsComment: exposure wise, this is just a bit on the darker side for my taste but has excellent tones and engaging composition. btw like the title too. good work. |

Wrong Side of the Tracksby robaComment: i like the documentary feel of this shot. not sure about the overall color cast though. the mask, bunny, girl with pink clothes, rail road with crossing sign, ugly telephone/light wires, and last but not the least factory. every single element adds a meaning/interest in the image. brilliantly planned and composed. |

Pumpin'by karmatComment: very appropriate choice of post processing (bw, high-key with grains). reminds me of the BW treatment in the movie "PI:Faith in chaos". |

Columns of steamby BrinComment: excellent job capturing the "translucent" smoke. addition of reflection was a very good touch. why did not you try increasing the saturation? did you want to keep the mood of the photo a bit rough/dirty, instead of pretty, to fit the theme more appropriately? |

H20 & Oil Rainbowby jhess77Comment: nice attempt at an abstract shot. i find it a little on the darker (brightness wise, not mood wise) though. i like the idea over all. |

IT NEVER SLEEPSby rozComment: what a nice riot of saturated colors! nice choice of exposure to get the beautiful "star" effect on the lights. i like the smoothness of the background too. |

Who Dumped Their Butts On My Road!?!by libertyComment: this photo has a high technical merit (cannot think of anything wrong with dof, exposure, composition) but does not hold viewers' attention for long, which makes it a 5 photo for me. some sort of interest in the background could have helped the photograph. |

Night Fumes by HauxonComment: super, simple, stunning, minimalistic image. absolute delight to look at. i do not even mind centered composition :) i wonder how would it look to have more on the left side and the pipe on the 1/3 line from right, so that the pipe does not divide the photo in two halves the way it is doing right now. 8 |
