On a clear dayby jjbeguinComment: I like this dramatic, high contrast B&W! I like how you've taken what must have been a rather mundane scene and transformed it into a real piece of art! Great vision :)
The person on the beach looks a bit like a dead body (hope it isn't)!
Great textures in this shot, the obvious flow (theoretically) inherent in all images in this challenge created by your leading lines is a fantastically executed interpretation of the technique. Nice silhouette on the body and a great shot overall!
Good luck with this strange and provocative image!

On the lakeby BigRComment: First of all, great image! I do, however, have a couple of suggestions as to how you may have improved the shot :)
Perhaps you could have positioned yourself to the left or right of the boardwalk. The composition is too centred for my taste and, I think, detracts from the overall impact of the image. If you composed the boardwalk stretching from either the bottom left or right diagonal to the middle, right or left vertical third. This would balance the shot nicely as opposed to leaving it centrally heavy as is the case now.
The other slight improvement I could possibly suggest is shooting this shot either at sunrise or sunset depending on whether you're facing east or west! This will not only bring out some nice warm colours but also eliminate some of those foreground shadows!
Concentration on the positive though, you've composed the image nicely horizontally, and the tones are fantastic! You've really captured the 'leading-lines' feeling nicely and the image sure is tack-sharp.
Great job on this image, I hope my comment helps if you ever decide to reshoot this subject, or a subject like it!
Alex
PS: I gave this shot a 7

The Man on the Phoneby redmoonComment: Alternative title: "Communication"
Get the feeling like I"m the person on the other end of the line talkign to the man on the phone! Fantastic idea and brilliantly executed. You've created great rhthym here, the tones are great.
10 from me!

Revenge On Authority ... Got A Match ?by ColeyComment: Classic sequel! I would have perhaps had the subject a little further down the line to emphasize the 'leading lines'.
A fine entry, very amusing and well executed.

Girl Interruptingby e301Comment: These steps are made for this challenge! The only way I could think this shot could possibly improve is by perhaps dressing the woman in a slightly less ordinary clothing to complement the surreal flow of the lines.
A 9 from me - hope this makes the top 10!
Alex
PS: This looks a little like e301's entry in the minimalism challenge! |

..by NazgulComment: Two centres of interest are not always a bad thing, but it's pretty drilled into peoples heads that it is. No biggie, a great shot that definitely fits the challenge and, IMO, should have scored a lot higher. Nice work
Alex
EDIT: Apologies for the atrocious grammar, but I'm sick, tired and lazy. It's also easier to apologize than to correct.
