Good subject for the challenge. I like the contrast in texture and color. The blown-out highlights on the leaves detract from the overall effect--probably could be fixed in editing. Appealing.

Nice composition--I like that you kept space on the left side, it provides balance to the strong subjects. The gaze of the one animal is intense--helps make this zoo picture amusing. Great detail in the fur. Nice lights in the eyes. Wish it had less of a domesticated feeling about it.

Lighting from the right to divide the dark and light - nice. The focus is off on the near dominos and not really sharp at any point.

This is an interesting landscape! It has all the qualities of a traditional, natural landscape: sky, clouds, lighting, horizon line.... nice!

Wow! The first "product" shot in the challenge. (And I'm on photo 274--gotta be a first.) Nice light and crisp rendering of the WD-40 can. Think the plane should be more in focus, though.

I like that this shows varieties of rust in various stages. Nice abstract quality, but it's broken a bit (to me) by the strong horizontal from the upper left. Still, sharp, good focus, o.k. depth.

Like the angle of the light but not how hazy it makes the entire upper left and corner. Background could be less distracting, though I like the texture and color of the gravel. Is that bluish streak a lens artifact on the water tank portion of the toy? It detracts.

What an unusual find. This picture raises more quesitons than it answers--good conversation piece. Exposure, cropping are nice, but I wish they sky was not so flat, it causes loss of definition in the tree tops.

Seems like train cars were just "made" to be canvasses for rust! Nice duotonic effect. The lens angle caused some convergence in the seam lines that detracts in a (very minor) way.

The crackling paint revealing the rust is an interesting subject. The dramatic/abstract quality might be stronger with a closer crop. Weakened colors make an interesting contrast to many of the other photos in the challenge which go the opposite way.
