| Yup, it's rust. The texture is interesting, and I think that the cracks in the thing are neat. The color stands out nicely. DOF is good for this shot, and your focus on the subject really helps to bring out detail and texture. Lighting looks to have been on your side this day. Maybe it's just this whole 'rust' topic, but it does lack excitement. Still technically well done though. ~Heather~ |

| The crackling paint revealing the rust is an interesting subject. The dramatic/abstract quality might be stronger with a closer crop. Weakened colors make an interesting contrast to many of the other photos in the challenge which go the opposite way. |

| I love the texture of this, the depth of the flakes of old paint and the rust beneath. The framing is good with a nice sense of composition and dof. |

| One of the better close-ups of rust I've seen in this challenge. Why? Lots of detail and texture. Harmonizing colors. No distracting background due to nice tight framing. |

| This appears to peeling paint with rust forming behind. I do not find it very appealing. Maybe If the shot were just of the center ninth of the photo. |
