Purple Tulipsby DiamondPeteComment: artistic clump -- would suggest shifting the light from the leaves to the tulips as they are the title. |

Nature at workby neenee1999Comment: nicely done - like the blurred background. bee gets a little lost in all the splendid color. |

Texas Bluebonnetby GordonComment: wonderful "impressionistic" background sets off the flower wonderfully. nice position in the frame. the one foreground greenery that is on the flower is ever-so-slightly distracting but that's what happens in the field. nicely done |

Spring has arrived !!by thomkatComment: setting them against the blue sky really sends the "spring" message and was a good artisic choice. your pov has used the light to backlight the flowers and the green at the bottom provides a pleasing base for the yellow color. i think a tighter shot would be my only suggestion to try |

Awakeningby instepsComment: you've created a very nice shot here - lighting is wonderful, border adds to the composition, two subjects get even and interesting treatment as you've placed them well in the frame. your use of light allows this color shot to take on the feel of a sepia one but keeps the dimention of color. One of the better flower shots this time around |

Beavertail Cactus Buds & Bloomby sfaliceComment: i like the juxtaposition of the soft flowers and pointy cactus (perhaps more dof or closer to get a better sense of the cactus) I'm left with the overall feeling that I'm too far away from the composition to really study it and "get inside" the frame. I'd suggest getting in closer |

Phloxby fisheyeComment: nice use of light and colors. I'd suggest using either light, dof, or lessing the amount flowers to add a focal point(s) as presented it's a bit jumbled with some flowers cut off. |

shrinking Pansey Orchidby drydocComment: very well done, great composition, greens add nicely as they draw my eye to your main subject, well exposed and crisp pansey. one of the better flower shots this time around |

Double Tulipsby banmornComment: nice grouping of flowers - presents a very frame-filling and satisfying bunch. nice positioning in the frame. lighting seems a bit uneven (dropping off at the sides) which works well except for a bit of fuzziness in the side flowers (not sure if I like it or not but it pulls my eye away from the center) Suggestion: I'd like a bit more light to have the colors pop a bit more. |

Glowing Bird on Blackby gerdagriceComment: one of my favorite flowers -- good choice on the black as the purple/orange really pop. I'd like to see a bit more of the stem as it seems too tightly cut off at the bottom - the center of the flower (the purple/tanish part) is not quite right - could be it's fuzzy "past its peak" look?? |
