 You have heard of a shrinking Violet?! Well, this is a shrinking Orchid but not because it is suppsoed to be. One of my wife's archids. She wanted some photos of it to compare with later growths or with other plants. This variety needs lots and lots of moisture which it wasn't getting. Thus, the accordion leaves. I know flowers are a touchy and sometimes sore subject but I had to do it (she bought me my photo table for Christmas).
Used two tungsten lights. Camera was set to tungsten white balalnce, hard sharpness and a #1 color filter.
Cropped the original for looks, auto adjusted for color, brought the glare down on the leaves and edges of the flower, adjusted saturation slightly, sized for the web then sharpened.

The textures are very well shown. The velvety petals of the orchid, and the shiny surface of the leaves. Very good.

Beautifully rich and saturated colors that stand out so well against the black background. Some hot areas, but very small and don't detract. Well done and good luck.

very well done, great composition, greens add nicely as they draw my eye to your main subject, well exposed and crisp pansey. one of the better flower shots this time around
