rose in b&wby shutterflyComment: Interesting take on the regular red rose. I like the diagonal compostion of the rose really makes it dynamic and interesting. The lighting helps to bring forth the soft texture of the rose petals. Contrast helps not to really give great details but helps to give you the form of the rose itself. This keeps it nice and simple. "9" |

Zipby Spork99Comment: The diagonal setup of the composition really helps to make this an interesting composition. The closeup is great. Love the way you have the lighting. The shadows and highlights really bring out the textures in the weave of the cloth and the smoothness of the metallic zipper. "8" |

Leather Roadby AFViperComment: Very interesting composition. I love the way you have the seam of the article of subject. Lighting really gives a great sense of the texture of the leather. The highlights and shadows captured really make this shot what it is. Not going too shallow of a DOF would improve this a bit. "9" |

Sensative Touchby JaguarComment: Interesting composition choosing the mouse has a main subject. The lighting helps to bring out the beautiful curves and shapes of the mouse. The shininess of the plastic, the ridges on the wheel, the beautiful weave of the carpet is really evident in the shot. A reflector or extra lighting on the right side of the shot would make the shot even more appealing."9" |

Three Friendsby leafComment: Interesting composition with the different colors and textures represented, from the shininess of the jacket, to the cotton t-shirt, and finally to the terry cloth of the towel. The lighting and the shadows help to bring out the texture of each material. |

Bird of a Featherby dan_pendletonComment: Incredible closeup, very in your face type shot. Incredible display of textures in the bird, from the soft feathers , the roughness of the black forehead to the smooth texture of the beak. "10" |

Unused Spongeby ChrisW123Comment: Very interesting compostion of a sponge. The closeup is very interesting in that you can see all the pores with the sponge itself. Love the shadows in the shot, it really gives you a sense of the texture of the sponge. |

Shipping Crate Cezanneby muur88Comment: Unfortunately the most difficult color to photograph is the color red. Almost all digital cameras don't capture it like it looks in real life. Your composition is interesting in that it seems to contain different levels: the fence, the painter, the wall, and the sky. this makes for an interesting composition. Only suggestion is to level the way so that it lines up horizontal. Without the framing it may be more difficult to tell but with it the shot looks crooked. |

Copper Shineby KentuckyGalComment: The piled up pennies gives a feeling of scales of an animal. Very interesting idea. The composition would really be brought out if lighting was from the sides so that highlights and shadow would make the subjects pop out of the shot. Currently the hotspot on the one penny is distracting. "7' |

texture of future...by theodor38Comment: Incredible closeup of a hand. Incredible details of the texture of the hand itself. Love the way you choose to light this composition. Seems to separate the segments of the fingers all the way down the hand. Would love to see a version of this without all the details in the hands. The abstract lighting is great. "8" |
