this was taken in front of my window in the basement.. i liked how the light interacted with the complex texture of the palm.. i adjusted curves, and desaturated, sharpened and voila!...i was going to go with a sephia tone but i decided i like the straight B&W better...

I like the perspective, light and tones here. It does look a bit oversharpened.

nicely done

Beautiful. How did you get all the lines so perfectly focused?

I love the idea and the composition however I think I'd like to see the same picture with the hand in a more natural position.

The texture shows up nicely...especially in the foreground, but I find all of the bands of light a little too distracting. Too bad there weren't only two of three of them.

Incredible closeup of a hand. Incredible details of the texture of the hand itself. Love the way you choose to light this composition. Seems to separate the segments of the fingers all the way down the hand. Would love to see a version of this without all the details in the hands. The abstract lighting is great. "8"

I highly commend you on this shot as I tried taking some photos of the textures on my hand and just couldn't manage to get it right. On top of doing that very well you added the interesting touch of the striated light. Very artistic. 10

Lots of contrast on the skin, almost too much. Looks unreal.

I think this has been a little oversharpened which gives it an unnatural look

I see the texture, but the subject and composition just don't hold my interest.

So awesome, the angle and the lights, all perfect 10. It looks petrified and sparkly at the same time. The picture is beautiful truly, done by a real artist for sure

Selection of B&W is good. Great concept but the image appears to have been over focused. This was probably done to bring out the image texture but may have been overdone a little.

I think the lighting is a little too much, but I like the idea.

It's a very unique shot, a bit strange and wonderful all in one. I can't help but like it. The shadows/light are very appealing. 9 from me.

unusual take on the subject. the hand looks almost wooden!

Good shot. Mono works well, light is excellent, positioning of the hand in that light suggests the work of the vorticist movement, or of monumnetal sculpture. Slightly extreme, would be my only detraction - other than that I don't actually like the image all that much.
