Biography: I have never been one for travelling with the herd. With this in mind I have travelled through life consistently choosing the unused but interesting paths rather than the autobahn. It is so much nicer to have the time to smell the flowers on the way. One such example is here at www.alangillam.com a yacht renovation and change of lifestyle. We sailed off from Liverpool UK in 2001 and made Quiberon Bay in Brittany our base and cruising ground. Four years ago we bought land where we winter the boat on the River Vilaine. The land has been developed to provide an alternative lifestyle in an un spoilt and beautiful part of rural France Photos here alangillam.com/blog/
Photography has always been an interest of mine I can remember my first camera a Kodak 127. At the age five I was not discouraged by the results even if the images were the size of postage stamps. By the time I was eight I had graduated to Baldixette which I still had when I bought my first 35mm in the seventies. Now things have gone full circle and I am again shooting with a full frame camera (35mm equivalent size sensor). To be able to travel and take photos for me is the ultimate goal capturing moments in time whilst travelling through it.
