I believe istock takes 2mp images and Dreamstime takes 3mp images but at that size they would have to be pretty great shots. You will also have a hard time getting images accepted that were taken with a point and shoot. My suggestion would be to at least shoot with a 6mp DSLR. You should be able to pick up an old Canon 10D with a 50mm 1.8 lens pretty cheap.

I have images on Alamy and PD but I also have about 2k of lo res images from earlier cameras. It seemed like a good idea to try to find a micro stock site so they might earn their keep. It might be a better idea to host them on my own website and and make them downloadable after a payment through pay pal. If such a gallery exists.

Fotolia has a minimum of 4MP

Rumor has it that businesses are using Flickr as s stock site and contacting photographers directly. And the rumor is true. I have been contacted by several non-profits who can only pay peanuts, the United Nations for two reports, and a largish ad agency in California. Overall my Flickr "stock" site out performs microstock 10:1. Who knows how many low resolution files are pirated in addition.

I was approached for a Liverpool waterfront shot by Schmap a web based map compiler in June but I missed the deadline.
