I am asking:

- How many active photos do you have on these sites?
- How much do you earn (on average) each month?
- Which stock sites bring in the most revenue?

I am new to this whole stock thing, but not new to photography. I have been accepted into Fotalia, Bigstock, and Shutterstock 3 weeks ago. I have not had any photo purchases on Fotalia and Bigstock; but I have had photo purchases on Shutterstock. I have 239 active photos on Shutterstock; and I am waiting to see what happens. So far I have made $7 on Shutterstock; but I am wondering if Shutterstock sales are mostly off of new photos and nothing else; because all of my purchases have been off of recently uploaded pictures (within the day).

So, I figured I would ask so that I could have some insight on what to do next. Any help you can give would be great!

Thanks.

I've been very lazy with contributing for the last year and my sales had dropped a lot. Shutterstock has dropped less than any of the other sites I belong to. It's definitely been the best for me.

Shutterstock is the best for me too. When I started with Shutterstock, only my new image were selling. But now also the older images. The making change from time to time to their search algorithm, that change thinks up.

On Alamy contributors agree that sales average out to 1 sale per month per 1000 images @ $80 per sale.

A pretty common average is $1/picture/month spread over all the agencies (the top 6-10 agencies). If you're not submitting to iStock and Shutterstock you'll have a very hard time reaching the $1.00/month/file

If you are getting more than $1.00 you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Less and you should figure out why your images aren't selling as well as other's images.
