I thought this scene will be very good match for this challenge. When I shot it I could not even see the light in the house, let alone the house or the trees. It was a great surprise to find out that so much detail was there.

7.83 at 100, unreal!!

Thanks for all the comments!! Especially to Shez and all Aussies!

Nice to wake up to a Blue Ribbon with my city in the background while visiting the city of love - Paris :)

PS I did shorten the comments above - there is a kangaroo on the right of the door.

I wander back to see this every once in a while. Have no idea why I haven't faved this before now. It's prolly one of the best night shots I've ever seen. I'd be curious to know how many people view this and have no idea what an incredible example of mixed light it is.

Very very nice Margaret. What a strange/unusual setting though. Who lives there one wonders. Under the outer rim of the big city.

I didn't even make the correlation between this image and your "Us and Them" Skyline entry until Melethia pointed it out. LOL

Truly a gorgeous image, I was so amazed when I voted on it, you definitely deserved this ribbon.

PS: Is it just me, or did you have a statement on your comment box about the shadow of a deer being next to the house? Maybe I dreamt that but I could've sworn I saw you posting that somewhere. O.O

I voted earlier, but I just have to come back and comment.
This is my favorite photo of the challenge and I sincerely hope it gets the blue ribbon. The contrast between the city and rural area is masterful and its just a fantastic editing job all around. I am trying to figure out how you exposed this so wonderfully that the "rural" is bright enough, but the city not overexposed. Just an awesome job all around.
10 and fav from me
