Thanks for the input. I probably should have spent more time cropping, though I am now just figuring out what style people on this forum prefer.

the color is a bit flat, and the composition doesn't really draw me in, perhaps this would be more dramatic from a lower angle and with more direct lighting.

of the flower pics I've seen I like this best so far, the wood mulch really helps the flowers stand out

If you could have zoomed in on the flowers in front, I think it might have been more effective. Great focus and clarity.

This could be improved with a composition that leads the eye to where the plants are breaking ground, therefore emphasizing transition. Perhaps closer cropping and lower angle.

really beautiful shot. Love the colors.

Nice and simple. Good framing.
04/26/2002 02:43:00 PM
nice shot - great clarity

Nicely done.

Which bloom is the subject here? There's too much leading my eye around the frame. Maybe this could be cropped a bit tighter on one or two adjacent blooms?
04/23/2002 09:51:00 AM
nice shot
04/23/2002 08:38:00 AM
pretty!
04/23/2002 01:46:00 AM
I much rather would have preffered a closer up shot, too much negative space
04/22/2002 10:13:00 PM
that's really cool

Nice contrast... Maybe a little closer with the camera... the mulch is nice but the flowers are nicer!

This is a photo I wanted to take, but we have already had our spring! I love the flower shots, I can almost semll these!! Nice focusing, good job!
04/22/2002 03:40:00 PM
good image... one thing that would've been good though is to have some snow around them melting. just a suggestion.
04/22/2002 02:31:00 PM
the isn't enough of the subject and too much of the ground.
04/22/2002 01:18:00 PM
good job bud
04/22/2002 12:38:00 PM
what kind of plant is that? I have to have one!
04/22/2002 12:37:00 PM
Best transition nature photo so far.
04/22/2002 10:22:00 AM
Reminds me of "Ernest:Scared STupid".
04/22/2002 09:47:00 AM
Could maybe be a lot closer in and just shoot one of these pushing up - the one in the upper left might have been a good candidate ?
04/22/2002 09:39:00 AM
Nice contrast of colors. A tighter crop of the main budding plant might've been more dramatic.
04/22/2002 08:08:00 AM
Good subject, nice vibrant colors.
04/22/2002 07:56:00 AM
Wow...I didn't realize they came out of the ground with blooms...cool picture. I like the colors.
04/25/2002 01:12:00 PM
Hey, I have these in my front yard. Nice shot.
04/22/2002 02:02:00 AM
Too much of a "straight on" shot for me. Maybe an angle from lower to the ground would make it more interesting.
