I just wanted to show that my entry in Macro IV was really alive so I took a picutre of him on my finger. I liked it so much I decided to stick in to Miniature challenge. I think it fits the challenge.

I let him fly around my kitchen. When it would land I'd put my finger in front of it and it would climb on. Very easy to shoot.

Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX Macro

Used 2 flashes (Canon 550EX and 420EX) fired by a ST-E2 wireless transmitter.

Congratulations Jacko on your 15th place finish. Another of your wonders and as usual...expertly done.

Excellent. Perfect for the assignment, but also a very good picture by itself.

It's an exceptional macro - perfect lighting and focus. But the only thing that makes it a miniature version of something that is normally larger - is your title. It's too bad because the photo is so excellent, hope you entered something similar in the macro IV.

Great shot. Youv'e actually given this little guy some character. Composition works well. I think a simple border would finish it off.

Aren't all dragon flies that small? A good picture though with excellent detail.

Well, I guess it's a slightly smaller than average dragonfly but then most of them are reasonably small so it's not an obvious miniature to me. Nice detail in the dragonfly itself and I like the way the wings make an angle that then works well in the top right corner of the frame. Although I can see it would look weird with much less finger because it's so pink it kind of overpowers that little insect which I know is the idea for this challenge but means the finished image isn't so interesting. 7

Great macro shot. Excellent focus, very good lighting and depth. Including someone's finger in the image brings perspective to the size of the dragonfly, however, it takes away from the visual appeal of the image, in my own opinion. I give this image a 6.

Very cool shot. Great focus and certainly shows of the miniatureness of the dragonfly... 10
