Congratulations on your 14th place finish. A very solid entry with the universal adult-child relationship...and you did it with wood.lol

Voted earlier. Returning for comments.

This little fellow needs protection. Look, I do not know what aperture you used here, but I would have closed that aperture to the max. Bumping from 6 to 7 because ot remains a cute shot, regardless.

Had a similar idea before my final entry, but these pieces are a lot nicer. Only complaint is that the pieces don't look center on the squares, and the board doesn't look very well cleaned. 7.

This shot is a winner in this challenge. The colour, DOF, light and composition are all excellent. That little white speck in front of the mini pawn is the only flaw. Beautiful work. This image really creates a mood. The sense of feeling overwhelmed or perhaps protected by the scale of the surrounding pieces.

It's like the Lord of the Rings: The Twin Towers, "What's going on?" "Would you like me to describe it for you? Or shall I get you a box?" Okay, maybe that's lame, but I like the picture!

shallowc depth of feild works well here would have liked the pawn a little more to the right as the bottom is cut off

Very choice subject with an excellent focal point / dof.
A little better lighting and less reflections would have bumped this to the top.
Well Done! ((8))

Excellent! Perfect depth of field...I just wish the colour was a little less yellow on the mini-pawn. Great title!

Even the placement of the mini-pawn on the square is perfect...It almost looks to be hiding a little...

I play chess almsot everyday, so naturally i'll be a bit more biased :-)
I love the depth and selected focusing! and the tones are really good, perhaps the blues in the highlight could hae been reduced a bit but nevertheless great job!
