This is a photo of my son, my ever-reluctant model. This shoot is gonna cost me a complete set of Ben 10 action figures.

Post Challenge:

Thanks a lot to everyone who gave this photo a chance to be among the top for this challenge. I am very happy with the result. The last few challenges did not have much high scores in their ribbon winners (6.4 for LevT's blue? 6.6 for HighNooner's?), so i was kinda hoping that at 6.7, I was about to get my first ribbon, at least a yellow. Oh well, little did I know that Claire recently resurfaced, and H2 wants some more bling, and LevT wants to stay a while longer in the front page. These guys are some of the greatest photogs in DPC, and Im proud to have my photo in the same page 1 of the results as theirs.

Congrats also to Marbo for a well deserved 4th. And to the rest of the top 10 winners, your entries were so good I wouldn't mind had any of you finished higher than me, especially to Ductyl.

Following your score in the thread for this challenge (and checking your portfolio), I was pretty sure this was your shot. I thought you would get a ribbon with this score too, which made me wonder how well my shot would do. Thanks for the Post Challenge shout out, made my day. Top ten is fine for me in my second entry. :)

Great image for this topic My only pic would be the plastic container for the water. I think glass would have worked better here. Should place well.

Wonderful soft lighting. Love the composition. Nothing distracts. Very, very good.

Had given this an 8... but bumping it up to a 9. I love the pop of red on the black.

Such a wonderful portrait. Great lighting, subject, composition. I may have selectively shifted the color on the box of objects to make the red just a bit different from the rest (so it would stand out more). And with so much attention to detail, the floor covering is not at the level of the rest of the image. It might have helped if the reflective board the box extended all the way to the bottom edge, or not to be used at all. Likewise, the carpet he's sitting on should either have filled the space behind him , or been more clearly an intentional (to make it more of a magical/ceremonial piece). As it is, it draws attention to itself for no reason, and isn't all that attractive.

All the above to be taken with a grain of salt as personal taste.

The reds in this picture are killer! Especially the glossy color on the kids' wrap. But I think it is very nicely balanced with the muted tones of the carpet and the boys skin, giving it a nice even feel. Outstanding -- top 3 in my list with a score of 8!
