Thank you all for the kind comments and votes! I am very happy about this shot: it got "explored" on Flickr, accepted on 1x.com, and now a DPC ribbon :-)

About the photo:
First, there was some preparation on the duck itself:
- false teeth (wooden sticks and white paint),
- the cape (my wife lost some underwear in the process... but this was a shiny material! I needed it! honest!)
- false hair (black thread and glue)

Then, I had to remove the upper panel from a digital piano, so that the 5D body would fit at an appropriate height.
Finally, some lighting work, and... silly faces ;-)

Setup:
- 400w softbox from the upper right,
- 400w strobe for backlighting,
- a 580exII speedlite from the front/left on the ducky, and to get a sparkle in my eyes.

Hope you like it!

Cool shot, Congrats..The last thing I look at is the duck, though.

Thanks! I sure would like an answer too, so that I can improve and don't make the same mistake again.

do duck draculas need to be stabbed in the ass instead of the heart ?

or did you figure the duck being so small the stake would puncture all internal organs :)

seriously - though - nice photo. very creative. congrats.

And you can see the three light sources, too - softbox in Count Ducky's eyes, strobe behind (well, you can see the light it provided) amd the speedlight in your eyes. What an enjoyable interpretation of a silly challenge. And at 1x too? They must think you've gone mad there. :-)

Without a doubt, this is one of the top 3 for this challenge. Maybe a gloomier/darker mood (ie. lighting) would have benefited your scene?
