This was an image I kept coming back to. It displays the wonderful trickery of photography. This is due to the infinite DOF. All the objects are at equal distance in the viewing plane. My eye is seeing an impossiblity which creates a moment of pure confusion until my brain catches up. This two-dimensionality was precisely what fascinated some of the great early landscape photographers. It is clear you made a deliberate choice when you framed your image this way. You could have gone for a conventional still-life POV and still had a nice image but I find this approach for more interesting and humourous. The only thing I might suggest is cropping out the area of shadow at the top of the frame which adds a bit of depth and detracts a bit from the flat, abstract quality. Very strong graphical image which I enjoyed immensely. It was one of my favorites from this challenge.

Thanks for sharing it.

Cool perspective and great presentation of some everyday objects. It looks like an art gallery pic to me. 10

Could Crop the black a little it can be distracting. BUt this can be deep people can look at this picture and think differently. Now This is Art People as simple as it looks buts its good! Great job 9
But this would be more of an abstract Photography not everyday objects but still great

A classic still-life..

The range of tones is great, and the choice of colour / grey objects is also neat..

The only distracting thing (and this is picky) is that you've picked up some barrel distortion in this shot, as you've obviously shot it with a wide angle lense? The line of the sill along the 'bottom' is curved upwards at the ends, and the top edge is curged downwards at the ends. In a perfect abstract still life world it'd be nice if they were parallel.

If you're using a zoom lense going to the middle of the range will often give the least distortion, or picking a prime lense in in the 60-100mm range if you're using an SLR.

I'd also have liked to see a bit more separation in tone/colour between the top of the image (floor?) and the sill, maybe a solid coloured rug, or a bit of coloured art paper on the floor.

There is much beauty in simplicity. I like this image quite a bit. The negative space at the bottom is something I can't really determine how much I like. I can't seem to put a value on its purpose other than balancing the composition to a centered view across the horizontal. The image seems to wlrk well with that part cut out also. Either way, I like it.... very nice work :)
