 January 2010 SC - Anna's Birth Revisited - Day 1.

The very first photo of my first daughter on August 27th, 2007.

All of my shots were taken with an Olympus C-720UZ (a 4MP camera purchased in 2002) that no longer works. Hopefully, my photography and editing skills have improved since 2007 and I'm positive the equipment I have at hand has improved since 2007.

i agree with the others I think it is a little oversoftened, your losing the detail just a bit. She is lovely!

Very cute - I like the vignette and the overall contrastiness and the gloved hand adds a scale but also some tension - when they're that small they look very tiny.

Beautiful newborn shot Brian - I do agree with jutilda and roz with regard to the smoothness of the image. The border for me is a little heavy and possibly the vignette could be a little less invasive.

hey brian .. i dont usually like to give any critique but you asked for it .. !!
i tend to agree with judy about the skin .. anna's skin seems a bit over softened or something .. other than that i love her cute little hands and how she's holding them .. she must'v been a very big baby if the gloved hands are any gauge .. !!.. its a great photo and i love your sepia tones .. :)

First off, congratulations. She's adorable. I like the gloved hand for perspective, too. My only observation is that the image may have been over-smoothed. At that age, they really don't need a beauty blur :-)

It is an interesting trip down memory lane to go back to shots taken from a camera you had long ago. This one is nice. Number one shot of number one daughter. What a cutie! Are you going to make an album?

I'd be curious to see the original. Somehow the conversion has her skin looking a bit flat, if that makes any sense. I don't usually critique during SC's but you asked. LOL

Her little lips and those nails!! I just love newborns.
