This is my first experience with LR3, it has been exasperating to say the least...but I am determined to learn how to use this program...I hope that I haven't totally buggered this up.

Greetings From the Critique Club

First Impressions:
Truthfully, flower pictures aren't my thing, but this one just jumped off the page at me! It's wonderfully done.

Technical (Comp, lighting, color, focus):
the lighting on the flower totally makes it pop! it just stands out from the bg which is equally as stunning

Challenge:
n/a

Artistic/Emotion:
a beautiful artistic piece
for a person who enjoys flower pictures this, I imagine, would be a stirring image

Summary:
You placed in the top 20, you got 4 favs, you got great comments! I mean what else is there? Well, there are 2 suggestions....a slight crop at the top to remove the hot spot....and there is a little distracting white spot under the lilly pad, looks similar to a copyright symbol, that coulda been cloned out. I know these are supposed to be in depth critiques, but how in depth can one go when the image is just on the verge of being perfect? :-)

This is stunning....the waterlily looks like an explosion of color- as when a water drops and it fans out. To compliment the waterlily is that the lilypad also has vibrant color radiating out from it's center. Beautiful clarity and lighting is spot on. Congrats on high placement as well.

A jewel, or a comet. Clear & beautiful & sharp as knives. Looks like you're off to a very good start with LR3.

I love the lily... but the lilypad is glaring to me. (not voting)

Little closeup version would remind me a "blue ribbon winner" in the past :) 8
