Once again had to resort to BugGuide.net for an ID. From a normal distance these just look like plain, light green little blips that periodically jump from one leaf to another. Up close they have some interesting patterns. There are a zillion different kinds (give or take a few); this one would have been quickly identified if I'd thought to type the host plant into my search ;-)
New configuration: 36mm + 20mm extension tubes, handheld, diffused flash.
PP - cropped, increased saturation on non-greens, increased contrast, slight dodge on bug, cloned out a few ugly leaf spots, resized, sharpened, added border. |

| I thought this was some kind of butterfly cocoon at first. Interesting bug. Hard to tell which end is the head with the antenna stretching along it's whole body. Nice shot. |

| The variety of bugs is amazing--thanks for this up-close view. Getting these fast-moving tiny things in focus, handheld--waugh! The flash looks perfect to me--good job. I keep trying & failing. |
