Lighting: The lighting is good, but seems to have a bit of a color cast. The soft-focus is a bit much for me.
Pose: conveys the emotion well, but I would not have cut off her arm.
Background: works good. |

Very cute composition. The pose does make her look 'shy'. The focus though IMHO is way too soft. Nice lighting to bring out the depth, just needs more focus.

Great portrait. The expression really brings out her shyness, and the soft focus adds mystery. |

I like her pose and expression and also like the soft, unfocused look of this image. I also like inclusion of negative space. Lighting is good too, and I especially like her red/brown hair color near to frames edge. Skin tones appear too green. |

Really liked the soft focus. Off center adds to mode. Nice shot. |

Good time to use a soft-focus technique, and I like the colors. I personally like the negative space, but it would probably be stronger as a "portrait" if cropped from the left to about the center of her arm. |

really feels like you've gone overboard with the softness - looks like it could have been a good portrait, but I can't really tell any more |

Nice soft lighting...but the focus or gaussian blur is a tad too soft for my taste. The portrait itself is nice, with pleasing tones and nice composition. :o) |

The light seems a bit off as it has created hot spots on the right of the frame above and below. I think you were going for soft focus, but it looks more out of focus than soft. She looks pretty. |

soft focus is cool for this type of shot but yours is almost too soft, nice shot |

Very nice lighting and background.
Critique: The head is to tilted for me and is a bit to soft. |

Lighting is very nice on her hair. For me - I'd like to see her eyes - and the OOF does not work well. |

I like the soft focus. It isn't out of focus. Good expresion. Nice background. Light on the right seems a bit bright (in the background). But overall, very nice. |

Stunning colors! The soft focus works well, but may be a little too much. Takes the subject to the point of "bad focus." Like to have the areas near the eyes with some detail. |

I think this is just a bit too much blur IMO
I like the crop though |

The soft focus might have worked better if it wasn't quite so out of focus. |

I understand what you've done here, but I'm afraid a lot of people will call this out of focus . To me, it's a beautiful shot, exemplifying the "rule of thirds". The softness/blur works with her expression and the title. Beautiful work... |

the soft focus was just a little overdone, to the point where it looks more out of focus than soft focus. lighting, pose, and background are good. |

I sould said that i like the softFocus a LOT.... but i used to put it at 30% because it seem too much (to me)... you composition is effective, i like the color o lot (make me think to use gel more !) and the face expression is amazing... just a little yellow cast in the face... a9 |
