Thank you to My Brother Dave for getting me into DPChallenge!

Lighting: The lighting is well balanced, but a catchlight in his eyes would have helped. The color cast needs to go.
Pose: Th pose is fine. Nice shirt! :) I hope you and your brother had fun doing this one.
Background: Works well.

The shirt is a bit overpowering in this photo. I like the closer crop in "My brother Dave".

Looking at the knowing half grin and the very noisy shirt, I would have to guess that Bob is a trouble maker or at least a character! (just kidding, I'm sure he's a very nice. fun guy!) This shot seems to give off a feeling of what kind of person he is! Lighting does the job, and gives the shot depth. Could stand to have some catchlight in the eyes though. Haven't quite figured out how to do this myself...

Lighting, exposure, background and focus are all good ... I might try cropping just a little tighter.

What a great looking guy - he looks almost as good as his brother Dave. He could stand to lose a few pounds thougg and I think he looks like Dan Akroyd.

Does Dave know you borrowed his shirt? LOL
Good portrait; lighting is effective but a bit warm for my taste. The shirt is also a bit "busy," along with the undershirt peeking out...it seems to have a bit of print on it and together that gives the eye too much to take in, IMHO. I would have preferred either no undershirt or the hawaiian shirt opened with a more complimentary undershirt. But that's just me. Good effort, regardless. :o)

Am I the first to make the Dan-Akroyd-lookalike-comment? Not a ribbon winner for me (seems a bit dark), but above average in my book.

White balance is more on yellow/red side.Lighting and exposure very good.8

I'm assuming you must be the brother Dave :) I think the lighting is good, but man ... you guys have the loudest shirts ever.

a very good protrait, love the color in his shirt but maybe crop it at about the second button from the top so it doesn't compete for your viewer's attention quite so much. I think a slightly lighter background color would have improved this, his head doesn't really stant out and loses definition.

Crop some of the shirt out...overpowers the subject.

Great colors and background. Lighting is ok - but needs more sparkle in the eyes. Hair lighting perfect.

I think this is a nice portrait, however the lighting seems a blit too dark. His head fades into the background.

Thats funny... I just saw the same shirt 2 photos ago..
06/29/2004 05:33:23 AM
Better lighting could of helped. Also maybe a higher shot from around his chest up.

Bob's shirt grabs my attention first. Perhaps if cropped more on the bottom, it would be less distracting.

Very nice, but just a tad too red. Wonderful expression.

I just found you on your brother's picture.
I see the humor in it to have 2 \"same\" pictures in this challenge, but here's an idea.
When you would have taken a picture with the 2 of you together, you on the left, and your brother on the right, and your brothers shot, exactly the same picture, but you on the right and your brother on the left...

This would have made it even more obvious and funnier. Well if it is meant funny offcourse otherwise this whole text would make no sence..

Lighting good, backgroud good, focus good, hawai shirt very bad!

Nice light, focus and colors. Cool shirt. Crop could be a little bit tighter to remove the partial arm.

It's a portrait in color, but there isn't anything that makes this stand out to me. The compositon is nice: the face centered and up 2/3rds.

Is there any relation of this shot with 'My Brother Dave?'

The retouched background is quite obvious here and the colour does not suit his obviously extrovert character. That shirt is deafening!!

Woooo, somebody should have a word with this guy about his shirt. :)
Nice shot though

You must be Carl then.
The pictures as a duo are appealing, but apart from each other they are just pretty passport pictures.

Some of the best lighting I've seen so far. Nice job.
