Excellent focus and contrast. I would have also desaturated his left arm/shoulder and hand, but not the gun. Pretty cool. 8.

This must of been a bit of work to desaturate! Nice subject choice, desaturation really makes sense.

Interesting play on the challenge topic. One of the more subdued entries, which I think many more should have been. I'm guessing at the weapon: Enfield L85A1? So this would make it a British soldier? Don't mind me... too many video games. You've done a very good job here. I like how you didn't desaturate the gun and the hand, although you've accidently erased the colour on his wrist. One of my favourites! Good luck!

Very nice! Bet this took a bit of time in post processing! Love how subtle the desat is but it adds quite a bit.

Ah - a deer's eye view - and very effective. I really like what you've tried here but think the image is pretty cluttered. Especially bothersome is the OOF branch in the left foreground.

Very cool shot. The title and use of desaturation create good juxtaposition and irony. Detail, focus, and DOF are good..... 8

Nice idea and a good example of how to highlight your subject by partial desat.
He would probably disappear in a full colour shot.

Top notch desaturization, you nailed this one. Great shot and it really benefits from the technique. I would give this a 10 for the challenge.
