Excellent focus and contrast. I would have also desaturated his left arm/shoulder and hand, but not the gun. Pretty cool. 8. |

This must of been a bit of work to desaturate! Nice subject choice, desaturation really makes sense. |

Interesting play on the challenge topic. One of the more subdued entries, which I think many more should have been. I'm guessing at the weapon: Enfield L85A1? So this would make it a British soldier? Don't mind me... too many video games. You've done a very good job here. I like how you didn't desaturate the gun and the hand, although you've accidently erased the colour on his wrist. One of my favourites! Good luck! |

Very nice! Bet this took a bit of time in post processing! Love how subtle the desat is but it adds quite a bit.

Ah - a deer's eye view - and very effective. I really like what you've tried here but think the image is pretty cluttered. Especially bothersome is the OOF branch in the left foreground. |

Very cool shot. The title and use of desaturation create good juxtaposition and irony. Detail, focus, and DOF are good..... 8 |

Nice idea and a good example of how to highlight your subject by partial desat.
He would probably disappear in a full colour shot. |

Top notch desaturization, you nailed this one. Great shot and it really benefits from the technique. I would give this a 10 for the challenge. |
