Taken on a shoot for my college course. The river runs through the main shopping section of Reading. This is looking up river at restaurants & the car park above. The bridge I was standing on was bouncing as people walked behind me so im suprised it came out as good.
This is totally cool.. Never would of known this is a river w/o your note... The starbursts fascinate me..
The tones and lighting came out perfect!! Good job!!
I'd have never known that was a river. Looks for the life of me just like wet concrete or pavement. I see reading your thread you shot this at a 20 sec exposure - that would explain it.
I like the starburst effect on the street lights. Did you just get that by stopping the aperture way down, or did you use some kind of filter?
No filter. Used an aperture of 20, ISO 100 & a 20 sec exposure. Got lots of lovely starbursts happening on some of my other shots on the same night too.
Very atmospheric.
I once went to Reading on a photography-based errand for my brother, who was living in England at the time and I was visiting. Picked up a repaired lens or something? I guess this building wasn't there in those days.
I love the colours and the lights (big fan of the starbursts)... crop a tad tight on top for my liking though... look forward to seeing more of your stuff throughout Dec.
The ultra violet is nice, esp on the water, esp mixed in w/the orange light on the river. Looks very inviting, a fun place to be at night. Sometimes, even though you think maybe it won't turn out, it pays to take a chance & see what you get. This is definitely a keeper.
lol .. a couple of minutes ago there was nothing in the whatever thread and then i came back and there was this billiant shot .. the colours are magnificent .. i particularly love red .. i love the sweep of the road too .. great start to your whatever side .. :)
well far out .. i thought that was a wet road then i read more of your photographer's comment .. ahhhhh .. its a river .. of course it's totally obvious now .. !!
