The Gorilla, like most great apes, is often seen as just another animal, yet every time I see one in pictures, I stop to stare. For whatever reason, they always strike me as having a greater humanity than even we, the humans, and sometimes I feel a tearing in my heart for the tragedy that it is we that rule the earth, and not they. |
