for the september macro side challenge

walking on the firetrail a couple of hours ago looking for bees, coz they're the only insects around at the moment except for ugly flies, and happened to glance down and saw wot i thought was a leaf on a rock .. got a closer look and it was this little lizard .. no bigger than an inch and a half from nose to the end of his tail ..

when i'm processing i often scale up rather than crop and then increase the canvas size if i want a different dimension .. that way i've still got the uncropped original as the background layer if i want to re-think it .. this was only scaled up 110% ..

i took a shot of a spiders's web a few minutes before i found this lizard and overlaid it in lighter color blending mode .. :)

He looks a little grumpy. Great find though, Roz!

Cool shot and cool idea to overlay the web image. He looks almost ready to catch insects, hopefully after you shoot them. ;) That firetrail sure has an abundance of interesting subjects to capture. Trails around here seem devoid of insect life except for grasshoppers. I don't see caterpillars or butterflies anymore like I used to when I was in my teens. The paper wasps haven't even made one single nest underneath my shed's roof when last year there were at least 5 or 6. This saddens me cuz I love bugs.

Awe, he's cute. Looks like a baby that hasn't quite grown into his head yet.

I like the use of the overlay, gives the illusion that I'm the spider, contemplating my own mortality as the lizard is wondering how dark of a beer he should use to wash me down!
